The Geelong Heritage Centre stores the collective memories of the Barwon Region. The Centre provides information in the form of private and public records, newspapers, maps, plans and photographs as well as extensive catalogues and indexes. |

To help you find out if we hold the resources necessary for your research, you can access two of our catalogues online - Microform and CD-ROM lists, and the Geelong Record Series (GRS) Catalogue which comprises all our archived records. |

If you are unable to visit the Centre we offer professional Research at an extremely affordable rate. |

View a list of our books for sale. We stock many Publications by local historians and historical groups. |

The Geelong Heritage Centre collections embrace the history of Geelong since 1838 and comprise the following general categories:
- Genealogy - postal directories, rate books, church and cemetery registers, indices to births, deaths and marriages (all states), immigration records and biographical registers
- Reference works - Geelong and district historical Publications and general Victorian historical works
- Newspapers - Geelong Advertiser 1840 to date, Argus 1852-1924, Colac Herald 1895-1952
- Maps and plans - subdivisional, dwellings and rural sales notices, and parish plans
- Photographs - thousands of images depicting the life and times of Geelong from 1840's - present
- Archival records - records of Geelong and district local government, Geelong business houses, manufacturers, architects, clubs, societies, churches, friendly societies and private individuals.
