Flash flooding occurs quickly usually following a relatively short burst of heavy rainfall such as during a thunderstorm. Normally, flash floods do not last very long and often occur with little or no warning. The water often flows very quickly and is therefore dangerous as it can sweep you off your feet and quickly damage property.
