The City only grants permission to not-for-profit organisations to sell raffle tickets or attract donations through tin shakes.

Raffle tickets

There are two City locations for permitted groups to sell raffle tickets:

• Malop Street, outside Esprit
• Little Malop Street Mall, the area near Banjos.

Put your request for permission in writing and send with a copy of your public liability insurance to:

For privately owned land, contact the owner for permission. If in doubt, or for more information, contact the Facility Bookings Officer on (03) 5227 0516.

Tin shakes

In order to conduct road-side collections, called tin shakes, approval must first be granted by the City of Greater Geelong. If approved, you must then present your letter of approval to the Victorian Police at least 30 days prior to your event.
