Geelong Residential Fringe Parking

The City is introducing changes to parking in residential streets on the fringes of Central Geelong. The changes are intended to ensure residents have access to parking in areas that are commonly used by commuters and visitors to the city precinct.

In residential fringe areas, the City is introducing a 50 / 50 mix of short term (two hour) and long-term (all day) parking. Two hour time limits will apply from Monday to Friday, 9am-5:30pm only. Eligible residents will be able to apply for a permit which will exempt them from the two hour time restriction.

The new two hour zones will ensure there will be a sufficient number of parking spaces for residents who do not have access to off-street parking.

A recent Council motion was passed allowing all properties to obtain 2 FREE residential parking permits per property regardless of how many vehicles can be parked on the property.
The same conditions still apply as per the Adobe Acrobat DocumentConditions of Operation - Residential Permit (PDF-26KB)

If you believe you are eligible for a permit, contact the City's Parking and Animal Compliance department on 5227 0500 or download an application below:
