The Geelong Short Play Festival returns this August following its sold-out inaugural season in 2025.

Featuring six original one-act plays selected from more than 30 local submissions, this year's festival showcases the creativity of local playwrights, directors and performers from six Geelong theatre companies. Audiences will experience an entertaining mix of comedy, drama and thought-provoking stories, from family tensions and political mishaps to futuristic dilemmas and unexpected revelations.

Awards will be presented for Best Script, Best Actor and Best Production, with audiences also voting for the coveted Audience Choice Award at each performance.
