Extreme heat service changes for Friday 9 January

Tomorrow, Friday 9 January, has been declared a Total Fire Ban day for all of Victoria, and a heatwave warning remains in place.

Tomorrow Friday 9 January has been declared a Total Fire Ban day for all of Victoria and a heatwave warning remains in place.

To keep everyone safe some of our services will change:

  • The Carousel and Geelong Waterfront Visitor Information Centre will be closed.
  • Golf courses including Lara Golf Course and Balyang Par 3 will close once temperatures reach 35°C.
  • Drysdale Resource Recovery Centre will close at 12.30pm.
  • National Wool Museum Geelong Botanic Gardens and the Visitor Information Centre at City Hall will remain open.
  • Swim Sport & Leisure centres are open as normal except the pool at Bellarine Aquatic & Sports Centre which remains closed due to fire damage.
  • The Children’s Pool at Eastern Beach is open.
  • Customer Service Centres waste services and reporting systems are operating as normal.

Remember to drink plenty of fluids check in with others and plan ahead.
