Whether you're cheering on the sidelines, joining a local competition, meeting friends for a coffee, attending a community event or enjoying a casual game, Tarratarra Stadium offers welcoming spaces for people of all ages and abilities. The facility features four multi-purpose indoor courts, meeting and gathering spaces, a café, outdoor civic plaza and accessible amenities, creating opportunities for the community to connect both on and off the court.

Recognising First Nations

The stadium's name, Tarratarra (pronounced TAR-RA-TAR-RA), was gifted by Wadawurrung Traditional Owners and means "many wings." Inspired by the River Red Gum Ghost Moth, the name reflects the stories, culture and natural environment of the area. In partnership with the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation, the facility has been thoughtfully designed to celebrate Wadawurrung culture and connection to Country, guided by the Narrative of Place, Dooliebeal meaning "place of River Red Gums."

These cultural stories are woven throughout the precinct, from the building's architectural features and artwork to the public spaces that encourage gathering, learning and connection. The adjoining civic plaza further strengthens this sense of place, providing a welcoming space for community events, outdoor activity and everyday interaction.

Good for Armstrong Creek, good for Geelong

Armstrong Creek is one of Victoria’s fastest-growing communities, with more families choosing to live, work and play in the area each year. As the suburb grows, so does the need for quality community spaces. Tarratarra Stadium will provide a modern, welcoming place where people can come together for sport, recreation and community activities, helping to strengthen local connections and support a vibrant, active community.

Community sporting facilities play an important role in supporting health and wellbeing. Tarratarra Stadium will offer indoor courts, gathering spaces and areas for community events, creating more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to be active. Regular physical activity helps improve physical and mental wellbeing, while community sport brings people together, builds a sense of belonging and helps create healthier, more connected neighbourhoods.

More than a sporting venue, Tarratarra Stadium is a place where the community can come together, stay active, build connections and feel a sense of belonging. We look forward to welcoming you, your family and your community to enjoy everything Tarratarra Stadium has to offer.
