Local Government Performance Reporting Framework

The Local Government Performance Reporting Framework (LGPRF) is a mandatory system developed by Local Government Victoria (LGV) to ensure all Victorian Councils are measuring and reporting their performance in a consistent way.

The LGPRF, implemented in 2014-2015, is a legislated performance reporting system to ensure all Victorian councils are measuring and reporting their performance in a consistent way.

The framework comprises of:

  • Service Performance indicators -  Aquatic Facilities; Animal Management; Food Safety; Governance; Libraries; Maternal and Child Health; Sealed Local Roads; Statutory Planning; and Waste Management
  • Sustainable Capacity indicators
  • Financial Performance indicators
  • Governance and Management Checklist – a checklist of policies, plans and procedures in place at each council.

All councils are required to publicly report their LGPRF performance in their annual reports as well as to LGV, who publicly release the results for councils as part of the Know Your Council website.
