The City is proud to present 'Ba-gurrk: A Gender Equity Framework for the City of Greater Geelong', the first of its kind for our region.
Ba-gurrk (pronounced baa-gurr-rek) is Wadawurrung for Woman. The City pays homage and acknowledges the First Nations of the greater Geelong region by using the Wadawurrung language.
The Framework addresses gender equity as a governance, community and organisational issue and will provide a guide to develop, implement and monitor actions.
It aims to eliminate barriers and acknowledge and celebrate the crucial role that Women and girls play in our economy and our community, and the importance of working together to create an equitable future for all.
