The Greater Geelong Settlement Strategy was adopted by Council on 25 August 2020.

The Strategy comprises of a background section with development and population analysis and strategy section including recommendations based around the themes of:

• Spatial Distribution of Growth and Land Supply
• Housing Diversity
• Managing Future Growth
• Bellarine Peninsula
• Permanent Settlement Boundaries
• Urban Consolidation
• Monitoring and Review.

The key recommendations of the Strategy will be implemented into the planning scheme via a planning scheme amendment C395 which is awaiting final approval of the Minister for Planning.
