The City will be refining the Elcho Road East Precinct Structure Plan (PSP) and Development Contributions Plan (DCP) following agency and landholder consultation which concluded in July 2026.
Elcho Road East precinct is identified as a short term precinct in the Northern and Western Geelong Growth Areas (NWGGA) Framework Plan. The precinct is located in the north-eastern portion of the Northern Geelong Growth Area (NGGA).
Landowner and Agency Engagement recently completed in July 2026. The City is reviewing submissions and will continue refining the PSP over the coming months. The Planning Scheme Amendment phase is due to commence in 2027 where the PSP will be exhibited.
The City recently completed fauna and habitat surveys for the Victorian Grassland Earless Dragon.
