West Fyans – Fyans Street Precinct Structure Plan
This Structure Plan provides the strategic planning framework for the area bounded by Shannon Avenue, Swanston Street, West Fyans and Fyans Streets, and the Barwon River.

Document History (2009 Plan)
The original Structure Plan was adopted by Council on 9 June 2009. Planning Scheme Amendment C205 was approved by the Minister for Planning on 24 February 2011, making minor alterations to the adopted plan. The Incorporated Document version of the 2009 plan is available via the link below.

Current Project Status: Comprehensive Redraft
The 2009 document is now being reviewed and completely redrafted to produce a modern, strategically sound, and visually engaging Structure Plan. The new document will have a strong graphic focus and will incorporate updated technical information.

Key Project Timelines
The key stages of this project are anticipated to occur throughout 2026. The Community Engagement Stage is currently planned for Q2 2026, where the draft document will be opened for public feedback. Following consultation and revision, the final Structure Plan is anticipated to be ready in Q4 2026.
