Changing Places

These public toilets are larger than standard accessible toilets which provide people with disability and high support needs access to suitable, safe, and private bathroom facilities.

Where are the Changing places located?

The City of Greater Geelong have eighteen adult change facilities.
Eleven are registered Changing Places, which are located at the following sites:

  • 83 Moorabool Street
  • GMHBA Stadium
  • Armstrong Creek East Community Centre
  • Rosewall Community Centre
  • Cloverdale Community Centre
  • National Disability Insurance Agency
  • Deakin University Geelong Waterfront
  • Deakin University Waurn Ponds
  • Leopold Library and Community Centre
  • Geelong Library Heritage Centre
  • Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Library
  • Victorian Sailing Centre
  • Rippleside Park
  • Ocean Grove Beach
  • Geelong Arts Centre
  • Portarlington Beach

Changing Places and Accessible Adult Change Facilities have some differences. Specifically, Changing Places Facilities come equipped with additional features that comply with the Building Code of Australia and are certified and registered on the Changing Places Australia website.

How do I access a Changing Place?

People with disability, carers and disability organisations can borrow a Master Locksmith Access Key (MLAK) for a day, at no charge. You can borrow a MLAK any day of the week from:

  • National Wool Museum between 10:00am and 4:00pm
  • Geelong Carousel between 11:00am and 4:00pm

Eligible people and organisations can purchase a Master Locksmiths Access Key (MLAK) directly from the Master Locksmith Association, or via the Changing Places website.

Marveloo Hire

Marveloo is a portable, fully accessible toilet and changing places facility that can be transported to events and community activities, promoting accessibility and inclusivity. 

It lets people with disabilities, families, and carers join community events confidently, knowing their needs are met safely and comfortably. The self-contained includes a track hoist and adjustable adult change table. Users will need to provide their own sling for the use of the overhead ceiling hoist.
