Community Care workers support older community members, people with dementia, people with disabilities and their families with a range of services to remain independent.
Our staff will work with clients to support their goals, allowing clients to maintain an active and independent lifestyle.
Services can include:
- home care
- personal care
- social support and
- respite for carers.
Our Community Care workers need to have:
- CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Home and Community) or a certificate III in a relevant field as mentioned below:
- Aged
- Ageing Support
- Home and Community Care
- Disability
- Community Services
- It would be desirable to have completed the 'HLTHPS006 Assist clients with medication' module or equivalent however this not compulsory.
Our Community Care workers are also required to have:
- a current police check
- a drivers licence and access to an insured car to use for work
- a Working with Children's Check (if providing care to children under the age of 18).

To provide our clients with a quality service, we provide training to all Community Care Workers that is relevant to their role.
The following training is compulsory and completed yearly:
- First Aid Level 2 refresher (Senior First Aid)
- CPR update
- any other training that is relevant to the role and the service provided, as discussed with the Supervisor.
- Compliance training as required on privacy, manual handling, child-safe standards, cybersecurity etc.
As a Community Care Worker you need access to a reliable, registered car and will be required to utilise your own car to complete community care work for the city.
Staff are reimbursed for kilometres travelled while completing client services.
