It's easy to see why Serendip Sanctuary, a 20-minute drive from the Geelong city centre at Lara, and a few minutes from the You Yangs, is a favourite with families. The place just teems with native birds and animals.
You can stroll past marshlands, ponds and lakes, come face-to-face with some of the 450 kangaroos and see beautiful brolga in a bush setting. You may also come across koalas and emus.
There are excellent free barbecue and picnic facilities available.
Entry to the sanctuary is free.
