Register for an ePathway account

To apply for some certificates, permits and other registrations with Council, you will need an ePathway account.

You will need to request to be verified as a registered user, which will create your account, before you can submit requests available within ePathway.

Individual accounts

If you are requesting as an individual user, we will cross check your request to your existing name record within our system.

If the details you provide do not match what is already within our system, we will contact you to confirm the correct information prior to creating your account.

Company accounts

We can only link one online account to a company name record within our system.

Because of this, we require a ‘central’ or shared email address to be the nominated username, rather than an individual email address.

Typically, these email addresses are admin@, info@, office@ followed by the company domain name.

If you submit a request with an individual or personal email address listed as the username, your submission will be refused, and you will be asked to reapply with revised information.

Frequently asked questions

MyGeelong is great for accessing general council services—like pet registration, rates, and family daycare bookings.

However, ePathway is a different system used for certificates, permits and other registrations, and you’ll need to register separately from myGeelong to submit these requests.

Once your registration is confirmed and your account is created, you will have access to apply for

  • Planning permits
  • Planning information requests
  • Planning pre-application meetings
  • Building information certificates
  • Land information certificates
  • Legal point of discharge report

Some permits have specific requirements to be met before access to online lodgement can be provided. These include

  • Asset protection permits
  • Works within a road reserve permits
  • Vehicle crossing permits

If you require extended access, please email the Civil Infrastructure team at [email protected] for your account to be updated.

Applications that the Building Services team are responsible for, such as report and consent and street occupation permits, are currently being created within ePathway and are due to be available by mid-2026.
