Project overview 

The Chilwell Library is located in Sladen Park, Russell Street, Newtown on Wadawurrung Country.

We are working with Geelong Regional Libraries and the Chilwell Library Group to undertake a significant redevelopment of the Chilwell Library. 

The redevelopment is centred on making sure that Chilwell Library remains an intimate and community-focused facility, improving integration with the park and providing additional spaces for broader community use.

We thank the Victorian Government for the Living Libraries Infrastructure Program grant of $150,000 towards the redevelopment.

Stay Updated

Recent works completed (February 2026 Update):

• Inground services complete
• Slab preparation, including form work and Geo membrane
• Slab poured
• Erection of structural steel complete
• Framing commenced and ongoing
• Measure for windows and doors

Works scheduled for March 2026 include completion of framing, brickwork, installation of windows and doors, and commencing the decking.
