Ross uses the ancient symbol of infinity frequently in his work. Reaching majestically to the sky, the symbol itself represents eternity, empowerment, and all things everlasting. The symbol gains special significance when placed in an urban environment – it represents past, present and future, and the inevitable amalgamation of all three. In considering Infinity, the viewer might call to mind the history of our country and culture, and how lucky and strong we are as a community in present-day. The reflective silver of the immensely strong stainless steel brings to mind a shining vision of the future, of a unified community moving forward, an infinitely diverse but unified one.
