About the artwork

Ricky's work is inspired by the landscape Gellibrand River and memories of native animals and sea life.
His paintings reconnect him back to Country his family and his life journey. His painting practice family maintaining good mental health and having good people around are important to Ricky. "I want to get old and say I'm happy."

About the artist

Ricky is a proud Gunditjmara man who grew up in Geelong and has family connection to the Wathaurong people in the Barwon South West region of Victoria.
