Monday 10 August from 2:00pm

"The secret I'm glad I shared" is the message behind the 2026 annual Dying to Know Day campaign. Talking about your final wishes now can save your loved ones a great deal of stress later.

To help start the conversation, we’re hosting an information session on Monday 10 August at the Springdale Neighbourhood Centre. The session will cover topics such as funeral options, legal matters, and other end of life issues.

Hear from:

  • Dean Matthews from the Geelong Cemeteries Trust on the new Geelong Memorial Park
  • Geraldine Hughes-Jones, a Compassionate Hearts on the Bellarine volunteer talking about her role and the organisation’s work
  • Russell Armstrong from Barwon Health discussing the benefits of Dignity Therapy
  • Emma Cvitak from Barwon Community Legal will cover legal matters for end-of-life planning
