This year's theme
Our theme for the 2027 Geelong Calendar, 'Capture the Wonders of Greater Geelong,' celebrates the diversity of our region. From rivers, parks, bushland and gardens to architecture, public art and streetscapes, capture the beauty, charm and diversity of the region.
The competition is open to everyone
Entrants of all ages and photography abilities are encouraged to enter, from keen photographers to anyone snapping on a smartphone.
Think outside the box
Look beyond the familiar postcard locations. We want to see hidden gems, neighbourhood landmarks and local places that hold special meaning for the Greater Geelong community.
Frequently asked questions
The competition is open to people of all ages and photography abilities. Entrants under 18 must have consent from a parent or guardian. They must also complete the under-18 section of the competition entry form.
You can submit as many photos as you like. Each photograph must show a location within the current City of Greater Geelong municipal boundaries. A separate entry may be required for each image submitted.
The judges are looking for original photographs that capture the 2027 theme, Capture the Wonders of Greater Geelong. Think beyond the obvious postcard shots: the places, landscapes and local treasures that make your corner of the region special.
Photos should be at least 300 dpi, suitable for print at A3 size. Please check your camera or phone's image settings before submitting.

Full entry requirements and terms and conditions are available before you submit your entry.
Selected photographers will be acknowledged by name alongside their photograph in the printed Geelong Calendar. These images may also appear in City of Greater Geelong promotional materials and communication channels. It is a valuable opportunity to have your photography recognised and shared across the Greater Geelong community.

How do I get a copy?
Collect in person

- Boronggook Drysdale Library — 2–8 Wyndham Street, Drysdale
- Plus all City of Greater Geelong Customer Service Centres, Swim, Sport & Leisure Centres and selected libraries
Copies are limited and available while stocks last — one per household.

Can't get to a collection point? Register for a posted copy and we'll mail it to you in early December.
Common questions
The City of Greater Geelong customer service centres are:
- Wurriki Nyal – 137-149 Mercer Street, Geelong
- Corio Village Shopping Centre – Corner Bacchus Marsh and Purnell Roads
- Boronggook Drysdale Library – 2-8 Wyndham Street, Drysdale
For residents unable to collect a calendar from one of the City’s customer service centres, they will be able to register in advance to receive one by mail.
Copies are limited and available whilst stocks last - one per household.
We produce a calendar for many reasons:
- To promote local events and activities.
- To increase community pride.
- To provide residents with a waste calendar.
- To encourage economic development.
- To promote City services.
- To share key dates — public holidays, rates payments, animal registration, daylight savings and school terms.
Based on community feedback, and to reduce waste and manage finances wisely, 2027 calendars are distributed as they were in 2026 and
differently to previous years. Copies can be collected from a City customer service centre, or you can register for a mailed copy. Limited stock applies — one per household.
The number of different pension payment days makes it difficult to include everyone accurately, so these aren't printed on the calendar.
