Be part of history on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026, as Geelong takes its place on the world stage of mass participation events with the first ever Geelong Running Festival.

Featuring a Marathon, Half Marathon, and Community 6.5km Run, the festival offers an unforgettable weekend of running for participants of all ages and abilities.

Saturday 19 September – Kids & All Abilities Races

The weekend begins with the Kids & All Abilities Races, starting at the Geelong Waterfront from 8:00am and finishing at Steampacket Gardens by 10:30am. These fun, inclusive events are designed to inspire the next generation of runners and celebrate participation for everyone.

Sunday 20 September – Marathon, Half Marathon & Community 6.5km Races

On Sunday, runners will experience Geelong like never before on fully traffic-free streets. Courses will take participants through the city's most iconic locations, including picturesque views of Corio Bay and the Eastern Beach foreshore and passing through Kardinia Park & GMHBA stadium!

The Geelong Running Festival is a promotion of health, fitness, and participation, while celebrating Geelong’s rich history and iconic landmarks. Geelong people are prideful and passionate about their beautiful city, and with the incredible support from the City of Greater Geelong, we cannot wait to welcome local, national, and international runners to not only run in Geelong, but to explore our beautiful region in 2026!
