All Saints Anglican Parish of Newtown and Geelong West
Now in its ninth year, the event returns to its traditional long‑form style: an eight‑and‑a‑half‑hour concert made up of 30‑minute sessions showcasing leading Geelong musicians: pianists, organists, choirs, instrumentalists, and school groups.
The day also includes short talks from people working with refugees, along with contributions from refugees and former refugees sharing their stories.
People are welcome to come and go as suits them, in keeping with the Jam’s motto: “Come when you can, leave when you must.”.
Entry is by donation, and because the event operates with no expenses, all funds raised will go directly to CRAG (Combined Refugee Action Group of Geelong) and UNHCR. The Jam aims both to raise money and to build awareness of the increasingly urgent challenges faced by refugees; among the world’s most vulnerable people.
