Geelong String Quartet brings two musical worlds together in Marvel Themes and Mendelssohn: an exhilarating live concert pairing music from Marvel film and television with one of the most powerful works in the classical string quartet repertoire.

Experience the cinematic energy and atmosphere of themes from across the Marvel universe, with selections drawn from The Avengers, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Captain America, Loki, WandaVision, Moon Knight, Agatha All Along and more.

At the heart of the concert is Mendelssohn’s String Quartet No. 6 in F minor, Op. 80. Written following the death of his beloved sister Fanny, the quartet moves through grief, fury, tenderness and extraordinary intensity. It is a deeply personal work and one of Mendelssohn’s most gripping musical achievements.

Led by Geelong violinist Jamie Parker, Geelong String Quartet features Jessica Leigh on violin, Flora Cawte on viola and Erna Lai on cello.
