Porous Bodies: Dancing with Rocks Workshop
Saturday 15th August 10:00am - 12:00pm

In this facilitated workshop, Emily Bowman will guide participants through a process that explores what it means to improvise, carry, balance, rest with, negotiate, listen to, and move with/alongside rocks.
Drawing on contact improvisation, somatic practice, ecological movement research, and more-than-human choreographic approaches, the workshop considers how rocks might function as collaborators, actants, and companions.
As a collective, the participants will investigate how rocks, bodies, and places invite us into forms of attention that are slower, more porous, less certain, and responsive to what is emerging in the moment.
This workshop runs from 10:00AM–12:00PM in the Performance Space.
This free workshop is open to people of all ages and movement experience. Attendees are invited to participate in a way that feels comfortable.
This event forms part of Collective Mothering, running 01 AUG to 04 OCT at Platform Arts.
