Sharing the City’s Community Engagement projects
Share via "Have Your Say"
Share projects directly via our Have Your Say website.
- Visit the City’s Have Your Say website: it's our dedicated engagement platform.
- Find the project initiative: Browse the page to locate the specific community engagement project or initiative you wish to share. Click on the project title to open its dedicated page.
- Locate social share icons: On the individual project page, look for the social media share icons. These are small icons representing Facebook, X and LinkedIn under the title “Share with friends”. This is found near the top of the page if you’re using a desktop computer or at the bottom of the page if you’re on your mobile device.
- Click to share: Click on the icon for the social media platform you wish to share to (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Add your context (optional but recommended): A new window or tab will open with a pre-populated share. Before posting, consider adding a brief, positive comment or your perspective on the engagement opportunity initiative. This personalises the share and encourages your followers to learn more and participate.
- Post: Confirm your share to publish the link and your message on your personal social media page.

Neighbourhood Conversations
Neighbourhood Conversations are run by the community engagement team and offer community members a chance to speak directly with City officers and councillors about the issues that matter most to them in their local area. These sessions also provide the City with an opportunity to promote current engagement activities and gather feedback on how we can improve our communication and consultation processes.
In 2025, we aim to collaborate closely with both Councillors and Youth Council to shape Neighbourhood Conversations that reflect the needs of all participants. A key focus will be increasing councillor involvement, responding to consistent community feedback over the past two years that highlights a strong desire to engage directly with elected representatives - not just City officers - at these events.
View upcoming Neighbourhood Conversation opportunities on our Have Your Say website.
Where it is a targeted/private event not promoted to the broad community, we will send invitations to councillors to participate.
Meet your Councillor Sessions
These monthly engagement sessions are held on Tuesday evenings before Council meetings, typically running from 4.30pm to 5.15pm. They provide an informal opportunity for community members to speak directly with councillors about local issues and concerns.
