A new sandbank has formed against the outer breakwater at the entrance to Clifton Springs Harbour. Combined with the predicted low tides, the entrance channel is much narrower than usual.
The danger of grounding is very high, particularly during low to mid tide levels and for vessels with a deep draft.
Please consider using alternative launch spots:
- Point Richards, Portarlington
- Limeburners Point, East Geelong
Maintenance dredging is scheduled for early February 2026.
