City invites input into Multicultural Action Plan development
Thursday, 8th December 2022
The City of Greater Geelong is inviting the involvement of community members as it looks to update its Multicultural Action Plan for 2023-2024.
In renewing the existing Multicultural Action Plan, the City is seeking to build on its strengths and develop new ways to inform and guide its work in celebrating the City's cultural diversity.
Mayor Trent Sullivan
The health and wellbeing of the broader community is at the heart of the Multicultural Action Plan update.
The City of Greater Geelong has long celebrated the region’s rich cultural diversity and acted on opportunities to create positive social, cultural and economic impacts.
Valuing, respecting, connecting, and enabling people are some of the many ways we endeavour to make people the centre of everything we do.
The City values, supports and respects people from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds and faiths, and it is vital that we ensure they are fully able to participate in our community.
Councillor Jim Mason, Chair of the Multicultural Action Plan Committee
I encourage community members to contribute to the Multicultural Action Plan.
In the quest for inclusion, fairness, access and increased participation, it’s important that we hear an assortment of voices from across the community.
We welcome input from a wide variety of community members to ensure that the next Multicultural Action Plan continues to meet their needs.
Input from key partner organisations and stakeholders will be considered alongside community views when designing the plan.
A Have Your Say page has been developed offering community members the chance to contribute via a survey:yoursay.geelongaustralia.com.au/MAP
The Have Your Say page will close on January 20 2023.
