Clifton Springs Boat Harbour congested by wrack - October 2025

Wednesday, 8th October 2025
Recent storms have deposited large amounts of seagrass wrack and sand at the Clifton Springs harbour entrance. Vessel transit is severely impacted.

Recent storms have deposited large amounts of seagrass wrack at the harbour entrance. Vessel operators are advised to take extra caution in traversing the entrance, to have engines raised and plan to cross only at higher tide levels.

Entrance maintenance dredging will commence as soon as possible and will continue until a passage is cleared.

A major harbour dredge is proposed for the 2026/27 financial year subject to statutory approvals and funding.
