Come see Victoria’s top tree climbers in action at the Geelong Botanic Gardens

Run by the Victorian Tree Industry Organisation, the qualifier is the largest on the Victorian calendar and is designed for climbers with little or no competition experience. It’s the perfect chance to see emerging and elite arborists test their skills across five events.
Competitor gear checks begin at 7:00 am, with climbing challenges running until 6:00 pm. The day also features trade stalls, a careers table and a kids’ climb.
Mayor Stretch Kontelj OAM
Geelong is proud to host this event in one of our most beautiful green spaces.
It’s a great day out for families and a chance to see the incredible skill behind caring for our urban forest.
Our City’s arborists complete nationally recognised arboriculture training, building the specialist skills needed to care for more than 190,000 trees across Greater Geelong.
Environment and Circular Economy portfolio chair Councillor Elise Wilkinson
Arborists are in demand across our region, and this event shows just how rewarding and specialised the profession can be.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for anyone considering a career change or exploring future pathways.
The Geelong Botanic Gardens is open every day of the year. For more information visit the Geelong Botanic Gardens website.
