Greater Geelong Council will meet in Drysdale next week as part of a commitment to take meetings to different sections of the community.
Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting on Tuesday 26 September at the Potato Shed at 41 Peninsula Drive Drysdale.
They will have the opportunity to ask questions hear an overview of local projects and watch decision-making in action.
Questions from the community are to be submitted by 12pm on Monday 25 September via www.geelongaustralia.com.au/meetings
Council meets outside of City Hall four times in 2023 with another community-based meeting to be held in November.
Mayor Trent Sullivan who is from the Bellarine Ward said it was exciting to take Council to all corners of the municipality.
There are benefits for the Council group and local residents in taking our meetings to other parts of the city. It provides an opportunity for people who might not otherwise attend a meeting to come along allowing councillors to meet a wider cross-section of the community. This helps us to connect with more residents and to get a better understanding about the issues that matter to them.
Councillor Jim Mason of Bellarine Ward encouraged residents from across the region to attend.
These meetings are a great chance for us to provide an update on key projects and initiatives in the local area. Councillors can also learn more about the things that are important to residents from outside of their own wards.
