Dredging and construction at Clifton Springs boat harbour

Monday, 18th March 2024
Clifton Springs boat harbour is relatively shallow. At regular intervals, the harbour entrance is dredged using an excavator, to facilitate vessel access.
Clifton Springs boat harbour

Clifton Springs boat harbour is relatively shallow particularly after storms when sand and seagrass are deposited in the area.

Dredging to clear the harbour channels near the entrance is scheduled to occur between 20 and 29 March 2024.

In the meantime vessel users are asked to take extra care.

At tide levels below 0.4 metres it may be difficult for vessels with deeper drafts to enter or leave the harbour without grounding.

Between March and July 2024 construction works funded by State Government and managed by the City will also be occurring in the vicinity of the harbour.

These works include a new car and trailer car park on the reclaimed land adjacent to the 'new' boat ramps and a roundabout to smooth traffic flow at the Jetty Road and Bay Shore Avenue intersection.

Please be aware of the associated construction traffic and potential for temporary changes in traffic access to the harbour when road works are in progress.
