Grant funding available to support positive ageing

Friday, 24th April 2026

Local community groups and organisations who host activities and experiences that celebrate positive ageing can now apply for grant funding to support the roll-out of these initiatives.

The Geelong Pickleball Club

Our Positive Ageing Grants aim to support community-led activities like workshops, dances, sports, and concerts that assist, celebrate, and connect residents aged 55 and over.

Funding through our Positive Ageing Grants program aims to increase physical activity and socialisation, promote mental health and wellbeing, recognise and celebrate achievements, and provide opportunities for intergenerational activities.

A total grant pool of $29,582 is available, with applicants able to apply for up to $1,000 of funding.

Applications are now open and will close at 5.00pm on Monday 25 May 2026.

Successful applicants will be notified on Monday 13 July 2026.

An information session covering eligible applicants, activities and expenses, and how to apply will be held on Monday 20 April from 4.00pm to 5.00pm.

Interested parties can attend in person at the Wurriki Nyal Civic Precinct or online.

Growing older shouldn’t mean giving up on hobbies, activities and experiences that make us happy.

Through our Positive Ageing Grants, we’re supporting local groups and organisations who make sure people aged 55 and over continue to feel included in our community.

Grants are a terrific way we can support the delivery of important programs.

I encourage community groups and organisations to take advantage of the information session to learn more about the funding opportunity.
