The City of Greater Geelong invites community input to develop an Integrated Transport Strategy (ITS) to set the vision and directions for transport decision making in the medium to long term.
The first phase of community engagement commences Wednesday 24 April to Tuesday 18 June and will help inform the development of the ITS background report.
This phase will seek feedback on any issues and opportunities for all modes of movement in Greater Geelong including walking, riding a bicycle, using public transport, catching the ferry, driving, and freight movements.
There will be multiple stages of community engagement, with the final strategy due for adoption by council in mid to late 2026.
Mayor Trent Sullivan
It is important to gather feedback and ideas from those who live, work, visit and move through Greater Geelong.
Tell us about your experience travelling in Geelong, whether it be about pedestrian and bike safety, car parking, or suggestions to improve the public transport network.
The City’s transport demands will continue to rise in order to meet future population growth.
The City is committed to delivering an efficient, connected and robust transport network that meets existing and future transport needs.
City Transport portfolio chair, Councillor Ron Nelson
I encourage the community to help develop an integrated, safe, and inclusive transport system.
Let us know where you have had good experiences or issues travelling around Greater Geelong or any ideas you have to improve the safety, accessibility, reliability and sustainability of our transport network.
Improving connectivity within the network is a key focus, as the growing population needs reliable links to employment, education, shopping and other destinations.
We must deliver a consistent level of service and infrastructure across the Greater Geelong area.
