Formerly known as North Bellarine Aquatic Centre, the Drysdale facility has been closed since April to allow for construction to safely progress on the indoor swimming pools and recreation facility.  

As these works continue, pool users will notice some changes around the centre, including:

• signage guiding community members to the outdoor pool’s temporary entrance
• construction fencing around sections of the car park and pool entry
• temporary car spaces. 

The centre will operate 6am - 10am Monday to Friday and 8am - 12pm on Saturdays throughout October, with opening hours gradually extending as we move into summer, in line with our other outdoor pools.

Aqua Aerobics classes will resume in November, with the centre to communicate further details to members via social media and website.

The indoor facility is on track to open mid-next year, with construction on the building’s structure and tiling of the swimming pools expected to wrap up by the end of 2026.

A sauna and steam room are included in the works after funding became available, thanks to efficient project management.

It is great to see stage 2 of the Linda McGill Aquatic Centre progressing.

A big thank you to the community on the north Bellarine for its patience while the outdoor pool closed for important construction work.

While it required some short-term disruption, the project delivered long-term benefits and eliminated any risk to pool users by allowing crews uninterrupted access to the existing plant equipment.

Opening hours at Linda McGill Aquatic Centre will progressively increase in November and then again in December.

The Drysdale pool isn’t the only outdoor facility reopening, with the Kardinia Aquatic Centre and Lara Swimming Pool throwing open their doors on Sunday 1 November.

The Children’s Pool at Eastern Beach remains open, with supervision from lifeguards kicking off next month.

Please note that the outdoor Linda McGill Aquatic Centre, Kardinia Aquatic Centre and Lara Swimming Pool close on all public holidays, including Geelong Cup on Wednesday 21 October.
