Stage 1 of the Windsor Park Facility Development Plan is now complete with the pavilion upgraded and extended to deliver new compliant facilities for women and girls’ netball, cricket and football. The development includes:

• two new netball and umpire changerooms with separate amenities for women and girls 
• refurbishment of two existing football/cricket changerooms and facilities
• installation of behind-the-goal netting for the main oval
• new tiered paving on the oval side for better views of footy and cricket matches 
• renovation to create a new accessible toilet and shower
• renewal of the existing accessible toilet
• new netball first aid and storage room
• stacking doors connecting the social room to a new deck extension with ramp and stair access, improving viewing access for patrons inside.

The North Shore Football & Netball Club and North Shore Seagulls Cricket Club call Windsor Park home, with the revamped space set to support more women and girls joining up to play netball, footy and cricket. 

The Victorian Government contributed $2 million through the 2023-24 Community Sport and Recreation Grants, while the City of Greater Geelong provided $500,000 and led the delivery of the project.

Every community and every sporting club deserves world class, female friendly facilities. 

And that’s exactly what we’re delivering at North Shore. 

For too long, facilities like changerooms for women and girls have been overlooked. 

I’m proud that the State Labor Government is focused on making sure that women and girls have comfortable and modern facilities, so they can get active and play the sports they love.

We’re thrilled to have partnered with the Victorian Government to deliver Stage 1 of the Windsor Park Facility Development Plan through these modern and accessible facilities.

We know that getting more women and girls into sport leads to improved mental and physical health and a happier and more connected North Shore community. 

A big thank you to the netball, football and cricket clubs for their advocacy, local knowledge and understanding of the clubs’ unique needs - they’ve been instrumental in the development of this project. 

 We look forward to seeing the second stage of the works at Windsor Park, funded with $4 million from the Australian Government, with these works expected to be completed by 2029.
