Short-term closure of Landy Field for track repairs

Thursday, 10th August 2023

Geelong’s John Landy Athletics Field will be closed for one week as track repairs are carried out in preparation for the rapidly approaching athletics season.

World-renowned sports surface manufacturer Polytan will be onsite from 8am on Monday 14 August to carry out repairs, with the South Geelong facility remaining closed until Friday 18 August 2023 to allow the track to settle before it is reopened to the public.

John Landy Athletics Field is a much-loved community facility that plays home to Geelong athletes of all ages, including members of Geelong Athletics, Geelong Little Athletics Centre and Geelong Masters.

The City’s track facilities at Goldsworthy Road, Corio are open for use during the short-term closure of Landy Field.
