Connect Club to combat youth loneliness
13 Aug 2026

Geelong Rainbow continues to create welcoming opportunities for LGBTQIA+ people to connect, access support and build a stronger sense of belonging across Greater Geelong.
This work aligns closely with findings from SIAG's Belonging in Geelong Needs Analysis, [ PDF, 5.49 MB] which found that people connect in different ways. Some build relationships through social activities and shared interests, while others connect through learning opportunities, peer support, volunteering, family networks or community groups. Providing a range of pathways into community is an important part of reducing loneliness and fostering belonging.
Geelong Rainbow's programs include:
In addition to these targeted programs, Geelong Rainbow delivers and partners with community for various events and activities throughout the year, including coffee catch-ups, sensory-friendly gatherings, art activities, fundraising events and community celebrations.
The organisation also operates The Rainbow Rack, a pay-what-you-can gender-affirming clothing service that helps connect trans and gender-diverse community members with support, resources and local services.
Geelong SIAG is proud to support Geelong Rainbow through an Access Enabler Payment, helping increase awareness of opportunities that foster connection, belonging and inclusion across our community.
Get Involved
Geelong Rainbow is currently seeking volunteers to support its growing range of programs and community activities.
They are also welcoming expressions of interest from community members interested in becoming involved with Rainbow Families or Golden Rainbow.
