Dazzling Dan the Magic Man and Bebop Circus with ‘Nicholas Ridiculous’ will be among a raft of entertainers when Kids Funfest launches Children’s Week 2023 at Leopold’s Memorial Park on Monday 23 October 2023.
Kids FunFest is the signature preschool event organised by the City of Greater Geelong in celebration of the week that runs between 21 and 29 Otober 2023.
The FunFest is the official launch of all activities held over the week, many of which are funded by the City through its Children’s Week grants program.
Organisations contributing to a range of interactive entertainment on the day include:
- Larissa’s Imaginarium project
- Hoop Fusion
- AFL Barwon
- Wathaurong
- Meli
- Geelong Regional Library
- Webstar swim school and
- Leopold Primary school.
This year over 20 free events will be held over various suburbs because of grassroots and community organisations successfully applying for grants.

Mayor Trent Sullivan
This year’s Children’s Week theme aligns closely to the City’s priorities for its youngest members.
We’re delighted to be able to support both the Children’s Week signature event and a range of other activities.
I believe that the broad selection of City-supported events dovetails nicely with the wider theme for this year that ‘Children have the right to relax, play and take part in activities they enjoy’.
Council recognises the need to support a community that gives children the opportunity to celebrate their early years, and there’s certainly plenty of opportunities for our young ones and their families to play, learn and grow together.
Councillor Sarah Hathway - Inclusion and Care portfolio chair
I encourage families to consider joining in with some of the many events on offer.
Children of different ages look for different activities to engage and entertain them.
I encourage all parents to take the time to look through the entire program and find the appropriate events for their children.
