Fully funded by the Australian Government through the Roads to Recovery (RTR) Program, the project covered 4.1 kilometres of Warralily Boulevard from Barwon Heads Road to the Surf Coast Highway, as well as 500 metres of Coastside Drive between the Surf Coast Highway and Stein Avenue. 

Construction began in November 2025 and finished last month. The works improved the road surface and will help to protect the pavement underneath for many years. In total, 61,000 square metres of asphalt was renewed. 

The project also used 33 per cent recycled materials, including recycled asphalt, glass and crumb rubber, helping deliver a smoother and quieter drive. The timing of the works was coordinated with the Barwon Heads Road duplication project.

Armstrong Creek is one of the region’s fastest‑growing suburbs and combined heavy construction and local traffic along this corridor continues to increase.

Roads to Recovery has received a significant funding boost since 2022, it means we now have much-needed road upgrades like this one at Warralily Boulevard – it’s a great result for the fast-growing community of Armstrong Creek.

People across Armstrong Creek are calling out for better local roads and this upgrade responds to that advocacy.
