Waurn Ponds Hosts Neighbourhood Conversation

Wednesday, 6th December 2023

Residents across the region are invited to have their say on projects of interest when the City of Greater Geelong hosts its fourth Neighbourhood Conversation for the year at Leisurelink and Waurn Ponds skate park this Thursday 7 December 2023.

The sessions offer an opportunity for residents to talk to City staff, and share your feedback, on what’s important to you about where you live:

  • talk with City officers about open engagements and upcoming projects you might be interested in
  • share your views in an activity to help us set the 2024-2025 budget
  • tell us what you love about your community and also what else you’d like to see in your neighbourhood.

The conversation will also provide an opportunity for residents to help City of Greater Geelong representatives understand how the City can improve the way it communicates and seeks feedback.

Further information is available on our Neighourhood converstations have your say page.

Mayor Trent Sullivan:

We want Geelong and the communities around it to be liveable, caring, and inclusive places for everyone, so we've been asking Geelong neighbourhoods for their feedback on how we can prepare for an exciting future.

We know that our region is continuing to grow at a rapid rate, so these conversations are an opportunity to contribute to planning for challenges that come with this increased urbanisation.

Councillor Bruce Harwood - Kardinia Ward

We understand that everyone is busy, so to have regular and meaningful conversations on topics that matter to the community, we will come to the places you live, work and play.

The Neighbourhood Conversations at Waurn Ponds follows one at Boronggook Drysdale Library on 5 September. The City is keen to listen, so let’s work together to create the Greater Geelong region of the future.
