Tertiary student placements
We host various types of tertiary student placements.
RTO placements
Students enrolled in a TAFE or other Registered Training Organisation (RTO) are often required to complete a work placement as part of the course.
- Required hours of a placement will vary from 15 hours to 500 hours.
- These placements are unpaid.
- 'Volunteer' Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required if relevant to the role.
Professional experience placements
A professional experience placement/s is a requirement of some undergraduate and postgraduate university courses to develop practical experience and skills.
- We support placements for Organisational Psychology, Teaching and Maternal and Child Health nursing students.
- These placements are unpaid.
- 'Volunteer' Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required if relevant to the role.
Internships or Work Integrated Learning (WIL)
Internships, also called WIL placements, are undertaken by a university student in their penultimate or final year as a credit towards their degree.
- Internships can be undergraduate or postgraduate and vary from 80–200 hours.
- Students must be enrolled in a relevant unit.
- Internships are unpaid.
- 'Volunteer' Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required if relevant to the role.
Placement opportunities are dependent on business capacity and availability to host a student.
The recruitment process includes a phone interview and pre-placement compliance checks including a WWCC (if required for the role).
