The Civil Infrastructure department values the opportunity to provide Deakin University Work Integrated Learning (WIL) students with real-world experience that supports their learning, professional development and future careers.

Gain real-world engineering experience

The Civil Infrastructure Department offers Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Industry Placement opportunities throughout the year for Deakin University students enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil).

Placement opportunities are advertised and shortlisted through Deakin University's Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment (SEBE) WIL Team, with placements commencing at the beginning of Trimesters 1, 2 and 3.

Students may be placed within one of our three business units:

  • Development Planning
  • Civil Infrastructure Planning
  • Transport

Application Requirements

In addition to your cover letter and resume, the following documents must be completed and submitted with your Deakin application:

  1. Civil Infrastructure WIL Student Information Form
  2. Student Handbook (acknowledgement page signed and returned)
  3. Confidentiality and IP Agreement
