A Public Health and Wellbeing Registration includes businesses such as:
- Hairdressers
- Beauty premises
- Tattooists
- Body piercing
- Accommodation operations such as Bed and Breakfasts (B&Bs), hotels, motels, residential accommodation and rooming houses.
2025-2026 Registration year
The 2026 renewals will be emailed to the registered proprietor. It is imperative that we have your current email address.

Initial registration
When the application form has been assessed and approved by the Health Officer, the registration fee will be payable.
This initial fee is to be paid before you start trading and the amount will depend on the level of risk.

| High risk Personal Treatment and Accommodation set up fee | One off set up fee at time of initial registration | $273 |

Renewal fees
The annual health registration fees are $367 - $529.

Performance fees
Additional fees may be applied when a Health assessment does not rate an A, when inspected by the Health Officer.
These are called Performance fees and are added to the annual renewal fees when issued for the following year. The amount for the 2025-2026 financial year is $86 and is subject to change.
Existing business
If you are taking over an existing business we recommend you visit the Business Victoria website and research running a business.
You will then be able to apply to Transfer the current Health and Well Being Act Registration.
Transfer fee for the 2025-2026 financial year is $220 and is subject to change.
