Planning for the management and care of pets and stock during any emergency rests with the owner and needs to done before an emergency occurs.

Any emergency plan you develop for yourself and/or your family needs to also include the arrangements to take care of your pets and other animals.

Pets need to be properly identified:

• name - tag
• registration tag
• microchip or brand.

Stock registers should be current and kept in a safe place

In your emergency plans you should include:

• pet photo
• water bowl
• lead and bedding
• stock plans
• for larger animals details of animal transport services
• any medications needed.
