Drysdale Landfill accepts small domestic quantities (no larger than six by four trailer) of asbestos.

Important Requirements
Asbestos is accepted at Drysdale Landfill by appointment only and must be prepared and transported strictly in accordance with the following requirements.
During wet weather, it is strongly recommended that customers attend in a four‑wheel‑drive (4WD) vehicle, as access may be limited.
Packaging Requirements
All asbestos material must be securely packaged before arrival:
- Asbestos MUST be double‑wrapped in 200 micron heavy‑duty builders’ plastic
- Packages must be completely sealed with duct tape so that they are airtight
- Material must be packaged in small parcels that can be safely handled by one operator
- Each package must be clearly labelled:
“Asbestos – Do Not Open”
Unsealed, damaged, or incorrectly packaged asbestos will not be accepted.
Depositor Responsibilities
The depositor must:
- Be prepared to manually unload wrapped asbestos at the landfill tip face
- Ensure all packages can be removed without breaking or tearing
- Ensure their vehicle can safely access and exit the tip face area
- Contact the Drysdale Landfill office on (03) 5251 2935 at least one hour prior to arrival to book an appointment
Hours of Acceptance
- Asbestos is accepted between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm only
- This service is available seven days a week
Fees
The cost of disposal is usually $76 per load (maximum six by four trailer). Oversized or improperly prepared loads may be charged more at the discretion of staff.
