The Barwon River Trail consists of more than 20 kilometres of sealed paths following the Barwon River.

This trail provides a continuous pedestrian and cycling network between Fyansford and South Geelong through the picturesque scenery on both banks of the river.

The Barwon River Trail provides links to a number of reserves including:

Parks playgrounds golf courses a waterbird sanctuary a waterfall and wetlands are all part of the attraction of the Barwon River Trail.

Southern Path

Starting from the car park above Buckley Falls this path follows the river along the Queens Park golf course before passing under the single-lane steel bridge over the Barwon River.

The trail extends along the river bank to Barwon Valley Park Fun with plenty of play equipment and barbecue facilities available for visitors.

Northern Path

New pedestrian/bicycle bridges have increased access to the walking/cycling tracks around the Moorabool and Barwon rivers at Fyansford.

The path runs through the Fyansford common before reaching the junction of the Moorabool and Barwon rivers.

The trail continues along the banks of the river to Balyang Sanctuary and on to the boatsheds John Landy Athletic Field to Breakwater Road.
