Unveiled in 1938 by the Governor of Victoria, this tribute was funded by the citizens of Geelong to honour their late king. Sculpted by Wallace Anderson and cast in 1937 at the renowned Fonderie Chiurazzi in Naples, Italy, the bronze statue remains an outstanding example of Australian civic art.
