The Hitchcock Memorial gateway at the northern entrance to Johnstone Park was erected in 1925 as a tribute to noted civic leader, the hon. Howard Hitchcock.

State Government Building

The State Government Offices, Geelong, a six-storey Brutalist concrete building designed by the Public Works Department in conjunction with Buchan, Laird & Buchan in c.1974/75 and completed in 1978.

Hitchcock Memorial Bandstand

Since 1926, the Hitchcock Memorial Bandstand has been a striking fixture in Johnstone Park. 
Large concrete pyramid made of three struts. The pyramid is placed on green grass near the Geelong Library.

Apex Pyramid
