In early 2022, we commissioned a group of female street artists to bring their work to Geelong’s walls, car parks and laneways.
Geelong Street Art Trail
Geelong has a growing and vibrant street art collection. Some artworks are commissioned by property owners and others are commissioned by the City of Greater Geelong through the Arts & Culture department. Many of the works are part of The 5G-ID project.
Waterfront Bollards Trail
Take a stroll along Geelong's iconic waterfront and discover a curated selection of the city's beloved Bollards. This shorter trail showcases some of the most memorable figures from the larger collection of bollards, offering visitors a snapshot of Geelong's rich history, colourful characters and seaside culture.
Heritage Trail
Geelong's rich heritage is deeply rooted in its diverse industrial and manufacturing history, highlighted by iconic locations like the Cheetham Salt Works, Corio Distillery, and the expansive Ford Motor Company complex.

The maps
Several of the central Geelong Trails are curated to be completed in a walk of between one to three hours.
The remaining trails are located around the Greater Geelong region and require independent transport.
Please note: to protect the privacy of private homes some trails are viewable only during specific event times like Open Studio Trails.
Private property
Some heritage locations are private residences or businesses and are not open to the public. Please respect people’s privacy by only viewing the exteriors of these locations.

Be prepared
If you will be walking a trail or two remember to wear comfortable clothes and footwear and bring a hat sunscreen and bottled water. If you are doing the trails on bike please note that not all trails are accessible through bike paths and you may need to drive on the street or get off your bike to walk. If you are parking your car make sure you lock it before you set off.
Where to start?
Some Trails such as central Geelong Trails are circular so you can join them at any point simply follow the numbers.
Others like the Bayside Bollards Trail are best started at either end.
You can also use the trails to identify public art wherever you are in Geelong. Open the Public Art trail and touch the location button (arrow icon) to search the sites around you. Many of the laneways and large building surfaces in Geelong hold impressive street art. Many of these can also be explored using the Geelong Mural trail.
Safety
The Trails have been designed to include the safest walking paths but please take care especially where the trail crosses a thoroughfare or where the path is uneven (for example: where the central Geelong Trail crosses Garden Street to the Geelong Botanic Gardens and to the entrance to Cunningham Pier).
If you choose to diverge from the trail please use appropriate crossing points.
